Power is generated by the GM Hybrid Propulsion Eletric System combine with an Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder Hybrid engine with variable valve timing. Malibu Hybrid comes with an 8-year/100,000-mile (whichever comes first) warranty on specific hybrid components. A 36-volt battery consists of six modules and generates 10,000 watts of peak power.
